Jessie and JT growing up

INSPIRED BY A TRUE STORY OF LOVE & LOSS

A True Story of Love and Loss

When JT Rees was nine years old, his sister, Jessie, passed away from an inoperable brain tumor, she was 12. At the time he didn’t fully understand what had happened and, because of that, he tried to ignore those feelings and naturally cope with what had happened. This is one of the reasons he gravitated towards movies. He saw them as an escape, a way to go to other worlds and see other lives. Looking back, that wasn’t the healthiest way to cope. Losing a loved one is something, sadly, everyone will experience at some point in their life, be it a family member, a friend, a pet etc.  Making sure you deal with those feelings is incredibly important.

THE STORY LINE

A Journey Through Grief

White Room is about sibling love, a film about losing a best friend and the toll that it takes on those affected. It’s about how not dealing with those feelings can lead to it being harder to come to terms with later on.  Not just feelings of loss, but also feelings that they might not want to admit like those of abandonment and resentment.

This film follows Reese, a 24 year old, who never got the chance to come to terms with the loss of his sister.  Now all those built up emotions are trying to come to the surface, but he lives in denial and must fight with himself to accept what happened and cope with it.
